PRECISION IN
EVERY PATH.

Non-blocking media networks and dependable timing for live production environments that cannot afford an ambiguous signal path.

Design the fabric around the flow

ST 2110 separates video, audio and ancillary data into coordinated IP flows. We start with a source-and-destination inventory, stream formats, multicast subscriptions and peak simultaneous use. From there, leaf-spine link capacity and port counts can be sized for the actual production, including traffic replicated across trunks.

Non-blocking is a property of a particular traffic model and topology, not a label on a switch. We account for oversubscription, packet rate, link aggregation behavior and operational growth before specifying the fabric.

Make timing measurable

PTPv2 (IEEE 1588) provides a shared timing reference. Grandmaster placement, boundary clock behavior, network asymmetry and the full chain of devices all affect accuracy. A practical design target can be less than 1 microsecond of timing error at endpoints, subject to the applicable profile and device requirements. Measure offset and jitter throughout the chain; a boundary clock does not automatically guarantee a particular budget.

Discover, connect, protect

NMOS IS-04 supports discovery and registration; IS-05 controls connection management. Together they help operators find and connect compatible sources and receivers. ST 2022-7 can protect media against packet loss on one path by sending duplicate streams over independent A and B networks for reconstruction at a compatible receiver.

Independence includes power, cabling and switch failure domains, not merely two VLANs on the same hardware. Test path loss, grandmaster changes and recovery with the actual endpoints before going live.
